We first met Megan 2 years ago when she jumped in and collaborated with us the styled shoot we did at The Journey Home. She was wonderful to work with (and her cake was AMAZING) so when she and Enrique came to us about photographing their wedding we couldn’t have been happier. (You can catch up with them here to see their engagement session.) From the beginning of their wedding planning they raved about their venue, The Stanley in Lee’s Summit. When we walked it and saw it we knew immediately why they fell in love with it. The space is cozy and romantic – just perfect for these two!
I think that Megan must have an eye for shoes. For her engagement session she had a fabulous pair of red peep toes. I have a love for peep toes as well so I was in love when I saw the blue ones she had for the wedding day. The day of the wedding the weather was COLD. Luckily The Stanley provided an awesome indoor alternative for the girls to stay inside for their portrait session. The girls rocked through all of Sarah and I’s directed photos and then had a request of their own – to do the Bridesmaids pose. We’ve had wedding parties do it before but we’ve never had a group nail it quite as well as these ladies.
The men were more appropriately dressed for the cold weather (so many layers) so we strolled around The Stanley for their photos. Enrique is a huge super hero fan and requested the photo below. His groomsmen were great sports about it!
We’ll be back on Thursday with the second half of this wedding, featuring photographs from the ceremony and reception. Make sure and stop back by!
