A few months ago we popped in here with an update about our camera bags (click here to read the full post). To recap we had decided to replace our Jo Totes Rose bags due to some wear and tear. We searched through several different leather options and settled on the Leather Camera Bag by Leftover Studio.
About a month after our post went live we were unexpectedly contacted by Jo Totes in response to our blog. Because of the wear and tear to our original bags they offered to provide us with replacement bags. We were blown away by the proactive customer service provided by Jo Totes. After weighing the choices we opted to go with the Abby bag in Mint. Our bags arrived a few weeks ago and we’ve just begun trying them out.
The bags are super cute. We love the color and all of the smaller pockets. The only thing we didn’t realize when we chose the Abby bag was it’s smaller size. This is our own fault for not paying better attention to the dimensions listed on their site. It is much more of a purse size than we are used to in our camera bags. To fit my camera in the bag I removed all but 1 of the dividers and dismantled the camera body and lens. There wasn’t room in the bag for my wallet but I was able to fit the rest of my stuff using all the small pockets. We agree that we don’t think this bag could stand in for our normal bags due to it’s smaller footprint but it’s a great alternative for our non-wedding day shoots. It is the perfect size for a camera body and 1 lens. I don’t think that I could fit my flash in the bag though. I do like having a smaller bag option that is easier to grab and go than my larger wedding day bag. It’s comfortable to carry (I personally love the shorter strap) and all the zipper pockets are a huge selling point!
When we were looking for camera bags earlier this year we specifically wanted bags that were genuine leather. We didn’t consider Jo Totes because we didn’t think that they offered leather options. When we were looking through their site we discovered that they are now offering 2 full leather bags. I love the look of the Siena bag – too bad we didn’t know that when we were looking! Kate from Jo Totes reports that they are going to be expanding the leather line in the future too.
Jo Totes really impressed us with this gesture by their customer service team. We never contacted them, they proactively found our blog and reached out to us. We have had negative experiences with some of our vendors which has caused us to switch companies. In this case we couldn’t be happier, we fully plan on supporting Jo Totes in the future!
