This spring, when we planned to meet up at Loose Park for Brian & Samantha’s engagement session, it was our first time in-person hanging out with them. See, we first heard about these two via their biggest fan – Samantha’s mom, Carol. We met her at a wedding show last fall and instantly connected. She is hilarious, but one thing was certain she thinks the world of her two kids. That’s how she referred to her daughter and her future son-in-law, which we just think is so endearing and what the world needs more of! We ended up “meeting” them via FaceTime because of one of our many snowpocalypes this winter, when they were in from Denver – where it actual snows and stuff :) So we were anticipating quality face-to-face time a few weeks ago. As luck would have it, we picked the same location and timing as a big race – just to make things interesting, ha!
We pushed through crazy race traffic, blocked streets, and even through runners for this session and ended up getting the coveted Loose Park Rose Garden and pond area practically to ourselves. These two were such fun to hang out with. They brought their pups to play too – one was well behaved ;) One may or may not have created a fiasco with the runners!
Brian & Samantha are both corrections officers, and we’d been advised that Brian doesn’t like his picture taken – we hear this SO much! Which is why we always tell our couples to not skip the engagement session and to be sure it’s done by your wedding photographers. There was just the right amount of budding flowers in the park to make it feel like perfect spring in KC!
Brian & Samantha – Thanks for choosing us to document your love! We look forward to your wedding this fall.
