One day I was driving around the Platte City square and I saw a wedding dress boutique that I hadn’t noticed before. I had two boys in the backseat of my car so I made a mental note to stop in the next time I was in town. The following week I had some free time so I decided to pop in. I am so glad that I did! That afternoon I was able to meet Jan, the owner of Romancing the Gowns in Platte City, MO. Her store is a completely unique dress shopping experience. It is a small boutique that specializes in selling consignment designer dresses. All of the dresses are new within the past 5 years and have either come directly from other stores, designers, or brides. The dresses undergo a strict screening process before they can be consigned and many have never been worn in a wedding before. Needless to say from our very first meeting I was hooked on the idea and knew I needed to bring Sarah to meet Jan as well. What has happened over the last few months has been the beginning of a wonderful relationship. In fact Jan is one of the people who helped us co-found the KC North Wedding Network. She also partnered with us by providing two AMAZING dresses for the styled shoot we are going to show off later this week. (We can’t wait to blog those images!)
Romancing the Gowns isn’t a new business but it does have a new location (which is why I’d never seen it before this winter). Jan is hosting her first Open House in her new space THIS Thursday for brides all over the metro to come and look at gowns and meet vendors. The admission is free but you do need to register in advance. Click here to register.
As you can see we will be at the Open House along with some of the metro’s other awesome vendors. If you’re getting married anytime soon you don’t want to miss out this on this Open House! Go and register now!
