Through our networking group we were introduced to Marci, co-owner of VIP Event Space in Parkville, MO. VIP Event Space is a newer venue in the Northland and we are thrilled to have gotten connected with them. I was able to take an afternoon to go over, tour the space, and chat with Marci all about the space and the people behind it. She was nice enough to let me take a few pictures and because we like them so much I wanted to share it with you all today on the blog.
So let me start off and tell you the ‘who’ behind the ‘what’. VIP Event Space is a family run business owned by Marci, her husband, Milton and her mom, Margaret. Her dad is the DIY handman that helps their construction needs/wants come to life. Over the last 10 years their family has done wedding work (decor, DJ, and photography) on a mobile basis through KC but knew that eventually they wanted to expand into their own space. After lots of prayer and patience the space for VIP dropped into their lap.
Lots of work went into making VIP wedding ready and today it serves couples as an all inclusive venue (though they have options where you can rent the space on it’s own) with complete DJ, coordination and decor services. I visited on a Thursday afternoon and it was set up with one of it’s custom decor packages. It was so nice to walk into the space completely set up. When you walk in it isn’t just that the tables are set up or that it’s decorated, you feel like you are IN a wedding.
One of the biggest things that sets VIP Event Space apart are all of it’s decor. They have a huge inventory of decor for brides to ‘shop’ from with the top package. They have standard black and white linens but their exclusive package includes rosette or pintuck linens. When I visited they were paired with silver sequined runners and a crystal centerpiece. If you like bling, you’ll love VIP! Sweet Reverie Custom Cakes made this cake that is on display in the venue. (Also, Jennifer & Elizabeth make amazing cakes, check them out here.)
I didn’t take photos of the groom and bridal suites or the downstairs areas because it was less photo ready but I will say that have been redone as well. Both the bridal and groom suites are large, something that is surprisingly unusual. The bridal room also had it’s own restroom, multiple getting ready vanities/mirrors, and a specialty dressing area for the bride.
Marci, Milton, & Margaret – thanks for adding a new and unique venue to the Northland! Thanks for letting us come out to tour! You can find more information about VIP Event Space on their website, facebook, or instagram. They are hosting a bridal show on the 23rd of this month. Sarah and I will be there taking photos of the runway show and meeting couples as well, so definitely mark your calendars to come out and see us!
