We hadn’t meet Ryan or Darcy face to face before their wedding day. We did lots of emailing and chatting, our last meeting via skype Ryan was in Arizona and Darcy was in California. These two, both military, and busy as ever were counting days to their wedding when their worlds would finally overlap under one roof (that was after they found somewhere to live, but those are just details when you’re blissfully married!) Darcy picked all of her vendors off gut instinct and email exchanges. The most amazing thing about a day with that sort of planning was seeing it come to life for her, I saw her responding all day to her vendors with joy. I think their day came together perfectly for them…an intimate gathering focused on one another and their family and friends. We were honored to be able to capture their love and leave the evening with big hugs and new friends!
While Darcy got ready, Ryan was already suited in his Army dress blues, so he spent time on the porch in gorgeous weather, smoking cigars. It’s funny how more involved getting ready is for brides, even for a laid back bride like Darcy. We love that both Ryan & Darcy got to enjoy their preparation time. Darcy with her mom and sister, while Ryan entertained a larger group family and friends! Both totally at ease and relaxed.
Darcy was escorted by her dad. They were so sweet before they walked down the isle, fidgeting and final touches. The curtains parted and it was real…her dad bowed his head in emotion as he escorted his daughter toward her future. The ceremony was personal and perfectly suited to these two.
Come back Thursday for the rest of Ryan & Darcy’s big day!
