As a kid I always loved art class. I liked knowing how the colors mixed and how to use the supplies. I liked that there were no wrong answers and that there was freedom to explore without having to worry about getting it right. As college approached I was directionless. I didn’t know what to study or where to go. I had always been creative and my step-dad suggested I major in fine art. I wasn’t sold on the idea until Sarah and I were driving to William Jewell College for a tour and I realized that if I did an art major I wouldn’t have to take college algebra. I was sold.
It wasn’t until after I had graduated college and had gotten married that I had any experience with the wedding industry. My first job was as a wedding coordinator for a local country club. I had no idea what I was getting into, or even what the job really was, but it was a perfect fit. I loved everything about it and fell in love with the wedding industry.
When we initially discussed starting our own company it was obvious for me that it would be wedding related. Sarah & Ginger Photography truly is a dream come true. I love learning the technicalities of photography and playing with how the different settings react to different lights. Part of my role within SGP is handling all of our product vendors and orders. I have made it my mission to bring our clients the highest quality photography products as possible. I love handing our clients their first family heirlooms. I love posing couples and being able to direct shoots. Being able to work with my best friend and meeting so many different people along the way has just been icing on the cake. One of the things I am most proud of is co-founding the KC North Wedding Network, which is a group of small wedding businesses here in the Northland. I am passionate about small business marketing and love doing design work.
I am married to my college-sweetheart, Chris, and have 2 little boys, Davis & Howie. I maintain a personal blog where I also feature some of my other loves: decorating and hosting events. I’ve been honored that some of my events and room designs have been featured online (Apartment Therapy, The Huffington Post, and others).
