About once a year we open our calendars to past couples and families for photo sessions. These two families are near and dear to us – especially this year – because the first are the Engles who helped both Sarah and I sell & buy our new houses and the Everitts are our new neighbors!
In addition to being our realtors the Engles are also personal friends of ours. (– Seriously tho best realtors EVER.) This is the third year that we have photographed the Engle family, and goodness I love seeing these girls grow. We thought this indoor set up was a perfect way to start our session. It was a departure for us but provided for a more formal look to our first set of portraits, and I think Joy said that these pics of her girls were her favorites. I can’t blame her, just look at those darling little faces. (Also Joy is a whiz at braids!)
We did a handful of pictures inside and then moved outdoors for the rest of the shoot. I don’t know why I put all the images into one board here, I guess it was a good idea at the time! I’m glad we were able to get at least 1 picture of Joy and Donny that was just them – SO rare when everyone is chasing kids and trying to get them to get their photo taken! The Engle girls really do have the sweetest spirits and getting to see how they react to their daddy (they are 2 BIG daddy’s girls) is precious. Tho perhaps one of my favorite moments was at the end of the shoot when Abigail thought we were done and she asked her mama to help her do something she was afraid of, walking on the stone wall.
This next family are new friends of ours – our neighbors! CES family meet the Everitt family: Shawn, Anna, Ayden & Ella. Anna I am totally selling you out here – they have never had their photos professionally taken, even for their wedding! We were really honored that Anna asked us to do their photos because she knew that she wanted to do them of the kids, and deep down knew that they needed family pictures. To keep it low key we did them right here in our own backyards, which was probably the best place we could have done them!
Be still my heart…love, love, love these mother-son, father-daughter moments. Aren’t these the things that bind us together and make life worth it?
Truth be told Miss Ella was the catalyst for this photo shoot. Here she is at 3 months. What a babe <3
When we thought we were finished shooting for the day and we could all relax we hit up our favorite local place – the swing set (my kids call it the playground), and you know what? These ended up being some of our favorite images from the shoot!
Thank you friends for allowing us to capture you & your families right where you are and who you are this year. We love you all (you know that)!
