Continuing our birthday coverage from this weekend’s festivities here are all the details from Mr. Davis’s Little Mister Mustache Bash! Several weeks ago his friends and family recieved their invitations (though theirs included the address and RSVP info):
There are an insane amount of pictures in this post (I just couldn’t choose which ones to include – sorry!). So let’s start with some details. We painted signs for the food room, welcome table, storytime, croquet, and bag toss areas. Most of the signs designated whether the activity was for ‘little misters’ or ‘gentlemen’ with a mustache or bowtie (or both). We also proudly displayed Davis’s painting at the welcome table. For favors we saved all those baby food jars and stuffed ’em full of candy for guests to grab on the way out.
No party would be complete without a photobooth (at least around here) and this one was no different. There were mustache and bowtie props for guests to choose from. Throughout the party there were also frames with pictures of Davis from this past year that included ‘Gentlemen Rules’. Some of the ones pictured below read, ‘A gentlemen always dresses well’ (photobooth table), ‘A gentlemen always shows a lady respect’ (centerpiece with a picture of he and his mama), and ‘A gentlemen won’t judge by looks but by heart’ (also on the photobooth table).
One thing that was decided early on was that there would be no birthday ‘cake’. Davis’s dad asked if we could do pie instead – so we went one better and made pie pops! All the flavor with way less mess! As you’ll see below Davis’s got his eat on with a cupcake from baby cakes.
Davis LOVED his cupcake. We were pretty much in agreement that we’d never seen a kid use this approach. The cupcake was sat in front of him, he pick it up, shoved it in his mouth (icing side in), and continued shoving until it was complete (and he was a total mess). When the cupcake was done he started eating the crumbs that had fallen!
As I said above no party that we throw would be complete without a photobooth. Here are some favorites of friends and family at the party!
Lasty THANK YOU to everyone who came and celebrated with us on Sunday. We were so happy to see so many people come and love on our boy! We still can’t believe he’s a one year old (though it is starting to sink in a little), how time flies when you are having fun (and this kid is a blast). Happy birthday baby – we love you!
