Malinda and Burton were fortunate enough to have close friends with a beautiful barn and guesthouse who graciously shared their space with them for their wedding location. The day began in this perfectly charming guesthouse just outside of Weston, MO which was full of vintage treasures and quietly tucked away corners. The home was filled with beautiful family heirloom furniture and we enjoyed taking in all the history of the space when we arrived. The house was not large but very functional and full of adorableness. The guys laughed and joked downstairs, and tucked up a narrow staircase the girls busied themselves with hair & make-up preparations. Burton ordered in Doughnut Lounge f (located in the Westport area of Kansas City) for the bridal party (this was our first time enjoying those – sooo good!)
The morning was rainy and very cool for April; ever the optimists’, family and friends bustled around making adjustments to move the ceremony into the barn and away from the rain. With very minimal fuss, the day was adjusted to accommodate the weather. Isn’t that what life is, adjusting as rain runs up against your best laid plans? Touches of blue and rustic whimsy wound throughout this wedding day. Malinda & Burton picked a quiet morning, surrounded by close family and friends to say yes to forever.
We did get small stops in the rain, and snuck outside with the guys for some portraits while the ladies readied themselves in the house.
The guesthouse was so easy to accommodate the wedding party. Also, we have to say that we LOVE that long bridesmaids dresses are in style!
